Right Or Wrong

Whoooeeee! I have been overloading my schedule for the past week. For that reason, you're getting what should have been Thursday's Bloom on a Friday. The good news is that I've been having lots of fun mixed in with meaningful work. I hope you're finding time to play, too.

So, since I'm a day "late", here's a reminder of last Monday's Seed:

"We don't always need to be 'right'. In fact, it can be a gift to be 'wrong' ".

What was I thinking when I wrote that? I was reminded of many times when I'm absolutely certain that I'm right about something. It usually means that I'm closed off to hearing anyone else's input. I'm caught up in my own bubble of conviction. I'm moving forward, full steam ahead, get out of my way.

When it's pointed out to me that I may be wrong, it's like putting on the breaks while going too fast. Everything slows down, allowing the pieces of the puzzle, that I thought fit together in one way, to actually create a totally different picture with a little reconfiguration. Besides helping me understand that I didn't really have all the answers, it helps me to stop, refocus, and course correct. Of course, there will be times when we are right on the money about something. And there will be times when we are not. It's a little bit like the difference between always talking instead of listening. When we are blabbing on and on, much like when we are sure we are right, we aren't able to take in any new information. Once we start to listen and allow for the possibility of something else, our lives expand. There you have it! Don't worry about being right or wrong. Do your best with what you've got and be open to even more -- this is what I wish for you. Does The Seed, The Bloom, and The Care resonate with you? Does it sometimes open up questions you might have about living your best life? Drop me a note and let's go over those questions. Going after a bigger, better life can be fun!
