Loving Moonfull

Hello, dear reader. I'm writing this on November 5, the evening of the Super Full Moon. All last week, I felt unsettled, and I simply couldn't think of what to write for this week's Thursday post. Then, we set the clocks back an hour, and I was doing one of my night shifts at the hospital that night. Sheesh, it was only an hour, but I felt like I was catching up for at least two days after. Because of that, I got my days mixed up, and my assistant had to remind me that I was getting behind. Finally, I sat quietly and asked for some inspiration. Ta-daa! Things started to make sense almost immediately and I knew I needed to share this influential moon with you.

Even though this information will be coming to you a day or two later, the effects of the moon will be around pretty strongly for at least two weeks. This Super Moon will be the closest and brightest it's been all year. It's sometimes called the "Beaver Moon" by Native Americans who recognize it as the time when beavers get ready for winter by shoring up their homes and putting food aside.

The moon is in the sign of Taurus, an earth sign which encourages us to slow down and be grateful. The moon itself is neutral, however, it can reflect our energy back to us and shed light on what we need. The stronger the moon the brighter the light.

The sun is in complete opposition to the moon, causing full lunar illumination and is in the sign of Scorpio. While Taurus is about the body, our senses, what we can touch, taste, and hold, Scorpio deals with the unseen, emotions, desires, and fears. Between the two of them, we are invited to merge the physical and spiritual. Together, their energies help us to release old thoughts that don't serve us and make space for new ones. The moon helps us get in touch with our intuition and inner guidance while the sun energizes us toward action.

Like the beavers, this is a time when we can build or strengthen our foundation, secure our space, and focus on what supports us. Here are some suggestions:

  • Meditate, get quiet, breathe and listen. Breathe in and receive new energy, breathe out and release what doesn't serve you.

  • Go easy, don't try so hard -- comfort isn't laziness and rest isn't weakness

  • Practice patience as you listen for guidance.

  • Connect with what really matters in your life.

  • Be present.

Create the habit of gratitude. This is one of the highest frequencies that you can emit and anything you are grateful for during the Super Moon multiplies.

Say yes to what excites you and no to what drains you.

Just like the beavers, this is a time to focus on and strengthen what supports us. You may have felt unsettled just before the full moon. As you feel the moon's influence, you may be noticing new, fresh ideas. The Universe is asking what you want to build and what you're ready to release. Look for positive emotions and recommit to what serves and holds you.

Sending you moonlit sparkles and sun shiny love.
