It Starts Within

Lately I've noticed a lot of comments about how unkind people are. I've experienced it firsthand and even from some people I would not have expected to act that way. I keep hearing that people fear that the world needs saving. This week's Monday Quote was:

"The revolution that will save the world

is ultimately a personal one."

- Marianne Williamson

This is what I know ... We do what we do, based on our own pain

and

Our energy goes where we direct our attention

As we evaluate our lives and find areas that need improvement the first place to go is within. It feels easier to blame personalities and circumstances outside of ourselves, but none of that will be helpful. The more we focus on the craziness outside of ourselves, the less chance we have of finding inner, divine wisdom, peace and strength.

For many, getting quiet and learning to listen to our voice of clarity and understanding is a radical act of rebellion. We become so accustomed to looking for answers outside of ourselves. We even look for God "out or up there". This is like looking for love in all the wrong places.

A practice of daily meditation is simply a matter of taking the time to connect with our true soul regularly. As we grow more quiet within, we start to shift and see things differently. Eventually we find ourselves feeling more lucid about how we want the world to be and we find more conviction and compassion about our role in the Universe. As we act upon it, our own world shifts and changes and creates a ripple effect all around us. Not only is this what I wish for you, I also know you've got it in you!
