Reservation for One

Have you ever felt really "consumed" by a feeling? Especially, one of the yucky ones like anger or fear? I know I have and in the midst of it I have found myself wondering, "I don't like this. Why can't I feel better?". It's almost laughable to even pose the question. It's a little bit like putting a round peg, that fits perfectly, in a hole and then, trying to put in another one. It won't fit. There's no room. You've used up all the space. As Monday's Quote stated:

"The law of physics states that no two things can be in the

same space at the same time.

The same principle applies to your emotions."

I actually find this comforting. It means that if I'm feeling happy and light, I can't also feel sad and depressed. Plus, if I am having a down moment, I can be sure that if I put some effort into finding a way to cheer up, those blues will take a hike.

Often, especially when we are filled with fear or concern, we tend to think it will last forever. (It's also interesting that when something "bad" is going on, we want to know why this is happening, yet never question something wonderful occurring! We humans can be funny creatures.) Of course, nothing lasts forever and Buddha taught us all about things constantly changing. When we accept that, we are on our way to being more peaceful. If we can remember that nothing will be permanent, we can look for ways to let go of the lower energy feeling and replace it with hope, optimism, and even contentment.

The next time you are being troubled by anything, remember that two things cannot be in the same space at the same time. Breathe a sigh of relief and find a way to replace your worries with hopefulness and positive possibilities. As Abraham teaches us (www.abraham-hicks.com):

"If you can let anger subside, and let fear be replaced with more hopefulness, you will easily tap into a momentum of Well-being. It will seem so easy, you will wonder why you don’t do that more often."

This is what I wish for you.
