Perfect For You
If you watch commercial television, listen to the radio, read newspapers or magazines (either online or hard copy) or, simply have conversations with your colleagues or friends, you are probably being bombarded with information about the best plan or program for almost anything. How to lose weight, improve your health, have more energy, be more confident ... you name it, there's someone out there telling you the only way to achieve whatever it is you want.
There's nothing "wrong" with that and it's great to have choices. The problem I see is that too many of us want someone else to tell us what to do and how to do it. We forget to take into consideration that we are bright, intelligent souls with the ability to make the right choices for us. This doesn't mean we can't look into what's being offered and, in fact, it's exactly what we need to do. Then, we can weigh the facts and check in with how it "feels" and make the best decision for what's going to work.
For example, if you decide you'd like to get more fit, you could check out a local gym and see what kinds of classes they offer. Spin classes might not be your cup of tea, but Zumba might light you up. Early morning boot camp might feel like pure drudgery, but power yoga could be just the thing.
I decided I was unhappy carrying around some extra weight and I've posted a few times about my Weight Watchers journey. I chose that particular mode to lose weight because I get a lot of freedom around the specific foods I eat. On the other hand, someone else might feel more comfortable having very specific foods already prepared or might find that too many choices feels overwhelming and figure out a different system that suits them.
Here are just a few of the advantages to indulging in a customized plan that fits into your lifestyle and takes into consideration what turns you on in the pursuit of making improvements in your day-to-day journey:
It feels easier
It's more enjoyable
You are more likely to stick with it as you reap the benefits
It supports you
It just feels good
Remember too, anything you want to tackle that involves change, works better when you have at least one other person in your corner for encouragement.
As Monday's Quote from me said:
" ... What. Works. For. YOU?!?"
It's worth the research to find out and this is what I wish for you.
