Yes or No

Hello and how are you? After quite a bit of Spring-like weather, we've had a temperature drop and some snow this week! The moisture is greatly appreciated and it's fun to bundle up. I'm house, hen, and cat sitting in S Oregon and there has been a lot of cuddling from my feline roommate.

I've recently had the word "hack" show up on a regular basis. It seems that there are all kinds of "hacks" offered up on Pinterest or TikTok, for example. I understand the concept, but I decided to look up the definition and this is what I found:

"A life hack is any trick, shortcut, skill, or novelty method

that increases productivity and efficiency, in all walks of life."

Boom! That's what I'm talking about -- let's find ways to keep things simple and sweet. I love it and I started thinking about applying it to a way that makes it easier to live better through healthy habits. This is what I came up with ---

Most of the time (almost all the time) we have a choice regarding just about anything. We tend to make choices difficult by complicating them with a lot of story and unnecessary details. What if we simply said, it's a "yes" or, it's a "no"? I had a coach who used to say, "If it's not a hell, yes, then it's a hell, no."

Carrying through with this idea related to being more healthy, it might look like this: (choose the healthy option)

  • take a walk - yes or no

  • have a glass of water or a soda - yes or no

  • stay up really late - yes or no

  • watch the news - yes or no

  • meditate - yes or no

  • have a salad - yes or no

  • overspend - yes or no

This requires staying in the moment, which I highly recommend on the regular (another healthy habit). Once you get in the habit of stopping for a second and asking yourself "yes" or "no", it will become your new modus operandi, the way you operate. Easy, peasy - right? Maybe not at first, but it will get to be your fall back. You know what's good for you and what's not so much. Choosing "yes" or "no" will get you on the right track. Sending you on your journey with love. Remember, be care-full.

Are you struggling with something .... sleep, weight, feeling blah? Are you having a tough time trying to figure it out on your own? I get it, totally -- been there, done that. Would you like to talk about it? I'd love to have a chat! Contact me and let's get you feeling better.

Happy Healthy Habit Hump Day!
