Comfort and Joy
Hi, and welcome back to another episode of The Bloom. It's already September, however, I must say that the sight of some Christmas decorations caught me off guard the other day. I decided to use it as inspiration for this week's Bloom title. What does comfort and joy mean to you?
"What do you need
to create an environment
that supports you?"
As many of you know, after 8 years of sharing spaces and using Airbnb, I finally got my own apartment in June. It's taken me a few months to adjust and I've already swapped out my bureau, desk, and kitchen table for different models that suit me and the space better. I have three chairs that are very comfortable for sitting and a few book cases that are full. As a night nurse, it was essential to get light-blocking curtains in the bedroom and I'll be bringing my down comforter up in December. My coffeemaker is in just the right corner of the counter in the kitchen. All of these things help me feel good in this space that's new to me.
There are other things that contribute to my overall comfort. I like going to work because of the people I get to be with. I enjoy being back in Massachusetts because I have friends, many who have been in my life for a long time. Even better, one of my sons lives nearby -- such a bonus. I love having four different grocery markets all around me, less than two miles away in almost any direction.
So, what makes a supportive environment for you? Do you love pillows or is a cozy bathrobe a "must"? Do you have friends or relatives in your neighborhood? In fact, is it a crowded community or lots of space, doorway to doorway? Take a look around and notice how it feels. What do you need to feel held, comfortable, and supported? Make whatever tweaks are necessary -- this is what I wish for you!
My bio blurb says I provide life support. What may I do for you? Let me know, drop me a note.
Sparkles and Love,
