Blame It On Ego

Hello, Dear Reader! Here we are, meeting again and I am delighted to be here with you once more. I hope you're enjoying your summer (or winter if you're in the S Hemisphere). Actually, I hope you're simply content right here, right now...

Which is the perfect transition into this week's Seed:

"The Ego is always looking for the 'next thing' because it's worried there will never be enough. The Soul says, 'Thank You', and is content. "

In some ways, it's comforting to know we can "blame" the Ego for our foibles or eccentricities of character. When I'm feeling like a hot mess, it's nice to know that's not all I am. It's merely a certain part of my whole and that makes it feel more manageable. All I have to do is tame the shrew and I'm in a much better space. I love the definition of the word content when it means, "in a state of peaceful happiness". Oh, to be able to luxuriate there on a regular basis is a goal worth pursuing. It doesn't mean we would be there all the time, but at least to know that it was there, waiting for us to surrender. Finding our way to our Soul is the key. The first place to start is with awareness ... noticing that we have fallen into dissatisfaction and the wanting of more. It's an interesting thing that when we feel like there's not enough, that's where we get stuck and no matter how much more we get, there's still a sense of lack. This is when we might find ourselves spinning. When we calm down and come into our loving, tranquil center, our Soul reminds us that we already have so much and our gratitude comes to the surface ... and we attract even more!

Learning to meditate, to find inner quiet is the best way I know how to gain entry to my Soul. After you learn that, then it's a matter of making the time or remembering to access that stillness when you need it. This is what I wish for you. If you've never learned to meditate or you've struggled with it, contact me cummingsbarbara@gmail.com and we can talk about it. I've also been working on a short series of videos to help, so let me know if you might be interested.
