Hunger For More

Do you want to be happy? I'd be surprised if you said, "No". Robert Holden, Ph.D., has made a whole career around happiness and has written ten books with titles like, Be Happy: Release the Power of Happiness in You and Happiness NOW!. His work has focused on positive psychology and well-being and he's considered Britain's foremost expert on happiness. Clearly, he has struck a nerve since his books and his programs are very popular. I've watched some of his videos (you can find him on YouTube) and I love his take on the three Fears we have around happiness (can you imagine we actually fear being happy?!?). In a nutshell, this is what I learned from Robert. We fear... That happiness is "some

It's OK To Be Disappointed

I get a kick out of referring to my weekly observations as a "blogette" -- adding the French ending to imply it's smaller than most. My goal has always been to stay short and sweet. We have full, busy lives and not only am I taking into consideration your precious time, but also my own! As so many of you have noticed, my life can be a little off-center. Besides having a streak of purple and sprinkles of sparkly faerie threads in my hair, I also haven't had a home base for several years. I remember her having some mini strokes in her late 80's (from which she fully recovered) and when the doctors saw the x-rays, they thought it was a mix-up. Her bones looked like those of a woman at least 20-30 years younger. I intend to live a good, long

Go For The View

I am originally from Boston, MA. I grew up in a suburb about 20 miles northwest and I spent lots of time in the city from an early age. It seemed only logical for me to move right into the city after high school, plus I ended up studying at a couple of the fine academic institutions (among hundreds!) there. I love Boston, however I also love to travel. Boston is a great place to call home. For me, I really enjoy all the museums, theatre, concerts, and history, just to name a few of the attractions. I also love that we have a major, international airport and that it's easily accessible as it's right in the city. When I'm about to embark on a journey, I don't want the first several hours to be
